GENIUS TO ALUMNI GROWTH
The Hidden Genius Project has become well-known as a leader in supporting high school-aged black male youth over the years. As the Alumni Community continues to grow, The Hidden Genius Project continues to develop and support its alumni aged 17 to 22+ beyond the 15-month Intensive Immersion Program.
1ST SUMMER
In their first summer, Geniuses receive 6 College Prep Workshops, attend 5 Business Trips, and develop the first iterations of their capstone project.
SCHOOL YEAR
After the summer, Geniuses continues meeting once a week for programming while receiving academic advising from alumni coordinators.
2ND SUMMER
In their second summer, Geniuses continues to build off the foundation established in the first while preparing to transition to Alumni.
ALUMNI
Once completing the 15 month program, they are onboarded as Alumni to Hidden Genius Connect to begin their success plans.
ACADEMIC IMPACT RESULTS
Fewer than 20% of incoming Geniuses (Black male high school students) in our Intensive Immersion Program have taken a Computer Science course before, but with continued support, more than 55% of our Geniuses go on to major and minor in STEAM-related fields.

ALUMNI VENTURE SEED FUND
Empowering Black Entrepreneurs
In November 2020, The Hidden Genius Project launched its inaugural Alumni Venture Seed Fund (AVSF)
AVSF is a dynamic program designed to support the advancement of our young student-alumni entrepreneurs through the five phases of startup development while intentionally supporting a deeper understanding of the space and application.
Throughout the course of five months, five Genius Founders will actively participate in this rigorous program to receive coaching, training, and early-stage funding to empower them with the resources, networks, and capital needed to support their entrepreneurial ambitions.
Program participants will partake in a series of workshops and exercises focused on these core phases; Business Ideation and Validation, Legal, Technology, Marketing, and Venture Capital.
COLLEGE & CAREER ADVISING
The Hidden Genius Project has invested resources to obtain full-time College and Career Readiness Advisors/Coaches through its partnership with the University of California Berkeley’s Center for Educational Partnerships (CEP) and Beyond 12.
As a result of the partner networks in the different School Districts and Universities, College and Career Advising Partnerships extend the capacity to continue service beyond the 15 month immersion program.
ALUMNI ENGAGEMENT SERVICE MODEL
The Service Model is a lifelong pipeline of support that stems from the Intensive Immersion Program and consists of Staff, Families, Corporate and Community Partners, Educational Institutions, and the illustrious Alumni Network.
Alumni are supported and exposed to a variety of opportunities such as Internships, Scholarships, College Prep, Executive Coaching, and an invaluable Professional Network, all in relation to their passions and interests to increase the retention of Alumni Engagement.
