In Fall 2020, Brandon Bazile (RICH2 Hidden Genius Alum) participated in Salesforce Music for Change program, which is an online social impact and music production program intended to teach students about music’s history, composing, and production with the end goal of having participants create a song advocating for a social issue they care about the most.

On December 18th, Brandon Bazile won the global competition and was crowned the first-ever Music For Change grand prize winner earning himself a fully furnished music studio package and most notably getting feedback from celebrity judges will.i.am, musician, entrepreneur and philanthropist, Jewel, singer-songwriter and mental health expert, and Dave Wish, CEO and Founder of Little Kids Rock.

History of Music for Change Program

In the summer of 2020, Salesforce partnered with The Hidden Genius Project to participate in their pilot Music for Change program. With the support of Salesforce volunteers, eight Hidden Genius Alumni submitted their final songs to Salesforce who then engaged over 100 employees to listen to each song and vote for the one whose message was most impactful. Meet the three Geniuses who won the summer competition and listen to their songs below.

 

1st Prize, Most Impactful Song: “Embrace” by Usean Redic

2nd Place Winner, Best Instrumental: “Elevator Pitch” by Elijah Hynson

3rd Place Winner, Best Lyrics: “Code Switching” by Jeremy Samuel

In addition to participating in the program, Salesforce invited three Hidden Genius Alumni to return and use their skills to continue developing the program which was facilitated in five countries around the world.
