Kelinde Secrease, a Junior at Encinal High School and Hidden Genius Alum, now teaches his own class as part of our Intensive Immersion Program. As a Genius2Genius mentor, Kelinde says being a teacher “gives me a greater perspective to what it is like to empower people and how to accommodate for different people’s needs.”

As for advice to future Geniuses, Kelinde adds “Take full advantage of every moment, make sure to always network because it’s not always what you know, but who you know…appreciate the mentors you have because they can open a lot of doors for you. Also, learn to prioritize…there will be moments where boredom strikes, but boredom means you are at the door of mastery.”

Following his own 15-month Intensive Immersion program experience, Kelinde completed the TEAM (Tech Exposure and Access through Mentoring) sports analytics technology apprenticeship program, and is now a certified SportsCode Elite analytics software user—the second-youngest certified user in the world! He plans to pursue a career as a doctor of physical therapy.
