OAKLAND, CA August 7, 2017 – Oakland Natives Give Back and The Hidden Genius Project are excited to announce the launch of their newly-opened collaborative workspace located at 2934 Telegraph Avenue in Oakland. The organizations invite their respective constituents and the Oakland, California community to join in the office opening celebration, tour and reception from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 10, 2017.

“In the past few months, we’ve worked to prepare our space to become what we’ve always imagined—a center of community life for the Oakland Natives Give Back and The Hidden Genius Project teams,” said Nyeisha DeWitt, Oakland Natives Gives Back Executive Director. “Our hope is that in the future we can open up our place to other small non-profit organizations that need a space to work or meet.”

“Dislocation and rising rents forced us to be part of the nonprofit exodus from downtown Oakland, but we are happy to have found a home for The Hidden Genius Project and Oakland Natives Give Back in a nearby neighborhood that is still very accessible to the families we serve.” commented DeWitt.

“While the circumstances that brought about our move were undoubtedly challenging, we at The Hidden Genius Project are extremely grateful to be able to collaborate with such a fantastic partner in Oakland Natives Give Back,” says Executive Director Brandon Nicholson. “With support from the City of Oakland and technical assistant from Northern California Community Legal Fund (NCCLF), we now have a beautiful and dynamic space in which to advance our work.”
